Roy Baumeister and Mark Leary (1995) contend the need to belong is a fundamental human need. They argue satisfying this need requires frequent, positive interactions with the same individuals, engaging in these interactions within a framework of long-term, stable care and concern.

These images form an in progress project that explores interactions with my own family and the places and spaces we live in. I want the work to speak of a belonging between and to the people and places depicted. The work is mix of carefully composed re-directed images and more casual observations that are predicated on an instinctive bond for those people and places portrayed.
